  3. Make sure the company has insurance coverage. Don’t just take their word for it: ask them for proof of insurance coverage before signing any contracts with them! Also, check out their online profile.
  4. Make sure they come highly recommended by family, friends and neighbours. You don’t want your belongings damaged in transit—and there’s nothing worse than seeing someone else’s stuff broken at the other end of a move!
  5. Make sure to keep your things organised throughout the process. It will make unpacking much easier when you get to your new home.
  6. If you’re planning on selling your old place once it’s empty, give yourself plenty of time for this process. It can take weeks or even months for a house to sell—so don’t underestimate how long clearing out everything from your old place will take!
